Amy Reichhart is counsel in the Energy and Environmental practice group. She represents clients in environmental regulatory and enforcement matters, site investigation and remediation, brownfields redevelopment and all phases of litigation. She is experienced in handling administrative matters before state agencies as well as litigation in both state and federal courts.
Today I focus my practice on environmental cost recovery litigation, brownfield transactions, municipal law, land use litigation and real estate tax appeals and challenges. I am able to oversee the cleanup of contaminated property from investigation, through remediation, to site closure. I am also fully versed in all aspects of approvals for development and renewable energy projects, including compliance with the New York State Environmental Quality Review Act and local permitting requirements.
I see the need to upgrade existing, and develop new, infrastructure projects (including those for traditional and renewable energy as well as water resources) as an issue that will have far reaching impacts across industries. Whether there is a desire to construct and/or operate such upgrades, and/or simply connect to them, the legal and technical challenges will be felt by all. Along these same lines, managing the inevitably more stringent regulation of energy and water use, greenhouse gas emissions and the use of various chemicals will be a key driver to the economic success of most businesses.
