Kacey Houston Walker is an experienced litigator who helps clients navigate their legal issues before the onset of litigation and represents them in all types of commercial litigation in state and federal courts.
I represent clients in a wide range of disputes, with a focus on commercial contract claims, business torts, and land-use litigation. I handle all phases of litigation, from drafting pre-suit demands and initial pleadings to trying cases and bringing successful appeals. I also work with clients to minimize risk and resolve disputes outside of the litigation process by understanding their business needs and objectives.
In addition to my commercial litigation practice, I have represented employers in actions alleging discrimination on the basis of race, sex, national origin, age and disability, as well as other violations of state and federal labor and employment laws. I am also a member of the firm’s Trade Secrets and Restrictive Covenants team and have represented employers and employees in trade-secret and non-compete litigation.
I draw from my past professional experience in higher education administration in my representation of colleges and universities. My experience includes matters involving student conduct and disciplinary proceedings, claims of discrimination, and general litigation on behalf of institutions of higher education.
Educational institutions face increasing challenges to their policies and processes concerning sexual misconduct as the regulatory framework and decisional law continues to evolve. We are monitoring regulatory changes and litigation trends to help colleges and universities navigate this dynamic and high-stakes area.
