Michael L. Webb practices in all areas of real estate, handling a broad array of commercial transactions including acquisitions and dispositions, complex financings, mezzanine financing and leasing. He frequently collaborates with Nixon Peabody’s Health Care, Corporate and Finance, and Banking and Finance groups to represent banks and borrowers, including hospitals, health systems, educational institutions and general corporate clients, in a variety of transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, private equity and joint ventures, and taxable and tax-exempt financing arrangements.
I represent clients in all aspects of commercial real estate transactions. I work with landlords, tenants, buyers and sellers of commercial, retail and industrial properties around the country and investors and stakeholders in both simple and complex property transactions.
This portion of my practice covers all stages of purchase and sale transactions from planning and drafting documents, through negotiations and closing. I represent clients such as startup entities, major developers and hospitals by counseling them on purchase and sale agreements, facilitating the closing and post-closing processes, and performing title review, due diligence and other site acquisition services.
I represent banks, lenders and corporate borrowers in financings and commercial transactions that use real estate as collateral, counseling commercial banks, non-bank financing companies and other financial groups entering into financing arrangements. I have experience structuring, negotiating and documenting financing transactions and performing diligence review of commercial leases, commercial real estate titles, and surveys in connection with such financing transactions.
Current economic, public health and social uncertainty is prompting, even forcing, commercial real estate buyers, sellers, investors, lenders and developers to become increasingly creative, flexible, and adaptive in their approach to commercial real estate, in a sense, “rethinking” commercial real estate and creating new standards and norms. I look forward to helping Nixon’s clients determine the best path forward.
