    /My focus

I take a collaborative and strategic approach with my clients, ensuring they understand the legal landscape and strategic options available. I prioritize clear communication, practical guidance, and efficient execution. My goal is not only to resolve the matter at hand but to help clients anticipate risk, make informed decisions, and operate with confidence moving forward.

My approach draws on experience in complex organizational and regulatory environments, including prior roles in the federal government and professional sports organizations, as well as work as a licensed real estate professional in California and Nevada. This experience informs my understanding of the transactional and operational realities underlying many of the disputes I handle.

    Commercial Litigation

I advise business owners, corporate shareholders, and executives on a wide range of commercial and financial disputes, including breach of contract, partnership and shareholder conflicts, fiduciary duty claims, business torts, and fraud-based claims.

I approach commercial litigation with a focus on efficiency, leverage, and strategic positioning—identifying early pressure points while developing a clear path toward resolution. I handle key phases of litigation, including taking and defending depositions, shaping discovery strategy, and obtaining early resolution through dispositive motion practice, including motions for summary judgment, summary adjudication, and demurrers. I take a lead role in managing day-to-day case strategy and serving as a primary point of contact for clients and opposing counsel.

At the same time, I prepare every matter with the expectation that it may proceed through trial, ensuring clients are always positioned from a place of strength.

    Construction and Real Estate Litigation

I represent commercial property owners, developers, general contractors, subcontractors, and landlords in construction and real estate-related disputes. I have also represented both landlords and tenants in lease disputes and unlawful detainer actions through all stages of litigation, including trial.

My experience includes construction defects, payment and lien claims, delay and disruption claims, lease disputes, property damage, and title-related issues. I regularly manage discovery in complex, multi-party matters, coordinate with experts on technical and damages issues, and handle depositions and motion practice integral to advancing case strategy.

I work closely with clients, consultants, and experts to develop cohesive litigation strategies that reflect both the legal and practical realities of construction and real estate projects.

    Environmental Law

I represent national and regional businesses in environmental litigation and regulatory matters, including claims brought under California Proposition 65 and related regulatory enforcement actions. My clients include well-known national grocery chains, retail delivery services, and non-profit organizations in matters involving alleged environmental violations, including failure-to-warn claims and allegations concerning the purported dumping or release of toxic chemicals into water systems.

I work with clients to evaluate potential exposure, coordinate technical and expert analysis, and develop practical strategies to resolve claims efficiently.

    Intellectual Property

I advise businesses, entrepreneurs, and creatives on protecting and enforcing their intellectual property rights, with a focus on trademarks, copyrights, and related unfair competition issues. My work spans both transactional and dispute-oriented matters. This enables me to counsel clients not only on how to secure their rights, but also on how those rights are tested and enforced in litigation. I assist clients through the full lifecycle of intellectual property protection, including clearance, registration, portfolio strategy, and enforcement. I also represent clients in disputes involving alleged infringement, misappropriation, and unauthorized use of proprietary content, brand assets, and creative works.

Because intellectual property issues often arise in parallel with broader business disputes, I integrate IP strategy into overall litigation positioning—ensuring that enforcement efforts align with clients’ commercial objectives, competitive positioning, and long-term brand value.

    Employment Law

I advise employers on a range of employment-related matters, including claims involving wrongful termination, discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and wage-and-hour issues. I work with clients to assess risk, initiate or respond to claims, and coordinate strategy in both pre-litigation and active disputes.

I also assist clients in navigating sensitive workplace issues, working closely with management and human resources to develop practical approaches that align legal compliance with business objectives.

    /Representative experience

    • Represented universities and university systems in actions arising from defective construction and contractors’ failure to complete projects, including coordinating litigation strategy related to project transition and completion by replacement contractors.
    • Represented a well-known construction company in multiple actions against subcontractors involving failure to perform, incomplete work, and related contractual disputes.
    • Represented shareholders in a dispute over the control and management of a real estate holding company, involving complex issues of corporate governance, fiduciary duties, ownership rights, and significant financial exposure.
    • Represented commercial and residential property owners in disputes involving contractual issues, property transactions, and construction-related claims.
    • Represented national retailers, including well-known grocery chains, in defending against claims brought under California Proposition 65, advising on litigation strategy, compliance considerations, and efficient resolution of alleged failure-to-warn violations.
    • Represented a large arborist and environmental services company in matters involving fire prevention efforts, public safety concerns, roadway and highway maintenance, personal injury, and wrongful death claims.
    • Represented a video game developer in defending against allegations of breach of contract, misappropriation of copyrighted materials and trade secrets, fraud, and unfair competition, positioning the case for a favorable resolution.
    • Represented a national non-profit organization in defending against allegations involving the purported dumping or release of toxic chemicals, coordinating with technical experts, and developing a defense strategy aimed at minimizing liability and reputational risk.

    /Looking ahead

Artificial intelligence is the most consequential invention of the 21st century. It is already reshaping how businesses operate, how disputes arise, and how litigation is conducted. As these changes accelerate, I focus on helping clients stay ahead of emerging risks rather than simply reacting to them. My practice combines technological fluency with sound legal judgment to deliver solutions that are both forward-looking and grounded in practical realities.
