Boston, MA. Nixon Peabody partner Joshua Sharp has been named as one of Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly’s “Up & Coming Lawyers,” honoring a select group of attorneys as part of the publication’s “Excellence in the Law” awards.

Based in the firm’s Boston office, Josh is a partner in Nixon Peabody’s Government Investigations & White-Collar Defense practice, representing corporations and individuals in complex civil and criminal litigation, internal and government investigations, and enforcement matters. He was promoted to partner on February 1, 2021.

On Josh’s first day as a Nixon Peabody partner, he presented oral argument in the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit about the RICO statute’s causation standard. A month later, the court published an opinion affirming dismissal of the case against the firm’s client, with the court’s opinion tracking the argument Josh presented.

Josh has extensive experience representing clients in matters related to the Bank Secrecy Act; the False Claims Act; the Anti-Kickback statute; the Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act; the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act; and other federal and state laws. Over the past year, Josh’s work has also focused on COVID-19-related investigations.

Josh earned his J.D. from Harvard Law School, magna cum laude, and his undergraduate degree from Harvard College, cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa.
