Nixon Peabody partner, Cara Wulf will be discussing Inside the DFARS Overhaul: What Defense Contractors Need to Know Now at the Public Contracting Institute LLC (PCI)'s webinar.

    Details from the Website

In FY 2026, the Department of Defense launched the first wave of its implementation of the Revolutionary FAR Overhaul (RFO), the broadest reworking of federal acquisition rules in a generation, using class deviations to renumber, consolidate, and trim DFARS language ahead of formal rulemaking to come. This 90-minute webinar explains what the overhaul does and does not accomplish: how cybersecurity, supply chain, and information security requirements have been pulled together under a new DFARS Part 240; why high-profile clauses such as the former self-assessment provisions were retired or relocated; and how these moves reinforce, rather than replace, existing CMMC and NIST SP 800-171 obligations. Because contracts and solicitations now mix legacy and revised clause citations during the transition, the session focuses on the practical steps contractors should take to keep flowdowns, documentation, and compliance planning on track while the formal rules take shape. The program is designed for government contracts counsel, compliance officers, contract administrators, and other members of the Defense Industrial Base who need a clear, actionable read on where the regulations stand today.
