/My focus

In my practice, I handle the structuring, origination, and syndication of financial transactions as well as acquisitions, dispositions, leasing, workouts, and restructuring involving real estate assets of all types. I represent life insurance companies, private equity funds, pension funds, financial institutions, and investment banks as lenders and equity investors utilizing project finance throughout the capital stack, and as lenders in the origination of real estate for balance sheet or securitization.

I also have extensive experience working with clients to structure, negotiate, and finance joint venture investments for both capital partners and sponsors. My experience also includes representing real estate developers in all aspects of development for retail, office, industrial, hotel, casino, special-use, residential, and mixed-use properties.

/Looking ahead

We are currently experiencing a very challenging real estate environment that is creating tremendous uncertainty regarding the future of certain real estate types, particularly office properties in core downtown locations in major metropolitan cities. I experience this every day when handling numerous workout and restructuring matters for both lenders and borrowers. However, as interest rates continue to decline, I am seeing more optimism from my real estate clients who are contemplating new investments and financing. I very much look forward to the impending economic recovery in the real estate market and continuing to assist my clients in realizing their investment objectives.
