Santo Borruso

In memoriam
Santo Borruso, a talented and hard-working counsel in our Complex Disputes group for more than 24 years, passed away in December 2025.
Santo joined Nixon Peabody as an associate in 2001. From the moment he arrived at NP, he brought a sharp strategic mind, an unwavering work ethic, and a kind spirit to every matter he handled.
Santo was an experienced trial attorney who represented corporate and individual clients in a wide range of civil litigation in state and federal courts. His clients relied on his guidance and greatly respected the tenacity and insight he brought to each case. Within the firm, he was known as a reliable teammate who could always be counted on to deliver effective results with a can-do attitude.
He was also committed to uplifting and teaching others—prioritizing mentorship and always making time to help new associates and junior attorneys. Santo believed in the value of supporting his colleagues and understood that their growth strengthened the entire firm.
In the office, Santo was both a jovial presence and thoughtful, sincere coworker. He took great joy in discussing his son’s baseball team and the works of Bruce Springsteen. He cared deeply about the wellbeing of his colleagues. His positivity lifted up his colleagues and endeared him to his clients. Santo loved the practice of law, he loved connecting with people, and he brought that sincerity and joy to everything he did, every day.
