Introduction
My focus
My practice focuses on representing purchasers and developers in the acquisition, construction, rehabilitation, and financing of multifamily affordable housing properties, including developments financed with loans insured by the Federal Housing Administration (FHA). As part of this representation, I work with clients to obtain regulatory approvals from the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and other federal and state/local agencies.
My previous experience includes advising large institutional lenders in all phases of loan originations for the development of multifamily housing properties. I also previously served as an attorney-advisor for HUD. My experience there informs my practice and has provided me with an understanding of the federal programs relevant to multifamily housing, healthcare, and other FHA-insured loan transactions.
Looking ahead
As the costs to build and rehabilitate multifamily housing continue to rise all over the country, I see a growing focus by federal and local policymakers to expand subsidies and other tools available to owners and developers. I look forward to working with clients to navigate ever-changing housing market conditions and utilize new resources to maintain and preserve the aging affordable housing stock and build new critically needed housing.
