My focus
In my practice, I focus on helping clients navigate the legal and regulatory complexities of affordable and market-rate housing transactions. I have experience with construction, rehabilitation, and refinancing of multifamily properties, with strong emphases on RAD conversions, FHA, and layered financing. I bring both frontline and policy-level experience to every deal, aiming to deliver practical, strategic solutions that drive successful outcomes.
Prior to joining Nixon Peabody, I served in the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) in Atlanta, GA and in Fort Worth, TX, where I was Managing Attorney for nearly four years. While at HUD, I worked with headquarters on the implementation and refinement of the RAD program for converting public housing subsidy to Section 8, co-wrote the Multifamily Accelerated Processing Guide’s FHA closing protocols, and managed successful negotiations with federal, state, and local agencies.
Looking ahead
HUD’s repositioning and FHA programs are set to boost affordable housing. I expect more RAD/Section 18 deals and mixed-income projects. In five years, innovative financing using federal, state, and local tools will reshape the housing landscape.
