Kathleen Jones is a senior real estate paralegal with more than 35 years of experience, focusing her practice on commercial real estate transactions, primarily engaging in matters relating to real estate development and financing. She regularly represents commercial lenders, investment banks, life insurers and other institutional investors and developers in construction, bridge and permanent financing for commercial, manufacturing, industrial, retail, office and mixed-use projects. Her practice also involves real estate acquisitions of commercial, retail, industrial and hotel properties and multi-family and commercial development projects.
I represent commercial banks, investment banks, insurance companies and other financial institutions in complex structured real estate finance transactions, handling all types of loan originations, including mortgage loans for securitization, mezzanine loans, bridge loans, construction loans and credit facilities.
I represent developers on the purchase, sale, development, leasing and operation of commercial real estate properties, including shopping centers, office buildings, multi-family residential properties, mixed-use condominium projects, hotels and industrial properties.
In my practice I manage extensive closing preparation to ensure all transactions close smoothly. This work includes procuring and reviewing due diligence, reviewing title and survey, preparing and procuring title curatives, drafting and organizing documents including UCC financing statements, preparing and managing all signature pages and then closing.
I anticipate increased activity in the senior housing and multi-family markets. I am also starting to see a digital transformation in the banking industry.
