Introduction
Taylor E. Pfeifer represents clients in high-stakes patent litigation and intellectual property disputes involving consumer electronics, power and energy technologies, artificial intelligence, and other advanced technology sectors. Taylor also advises clients on IP and regulatory issues arising in investment transactions.
My focus
My practice focuses on representing clients in high-stakes district court patent litigation and before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB). I provide strategic guidance on infringement and validity issues in matters involving wearable optical sensor technology, power electronics, consumer electronics, design patents, automotive navigation systems, and other computing and communications technologies.
In district court, I have experience at every stage of patent litigation, including infringement and invalidity contention practice, claim construction, fact and expert discovery, Daubert and summary judgment briefing, and trial. I also handle matters throughout the PTAB process, including inter partes review and post-grant review proceedings, as well as appellate practice before the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.
Beyond my patent litigation work, I advise clients on patent licensing and counseling, intellectual property matters involving trademarks, copyrights, and trade secrets, complex commercial and trade secret litigation, and regulatory issues arising in investment transactions.
Looking ahead
As artificial intelligence becomes embedded in more products and industries, I expect continued growth in sophisticated patent disputes involving AI technologies, wearable health technology, and connected devices. As a member of our firm’s Artificial Intelligence IP team, I help clients anticipate and manage IP risks in this rapidly evolving landscape.
