    Introduction

Andy Rose is a seasoned litigator and serves as a strategic advisor for clients, from Fortune 500 companies to entrepreneurs working on emerging technologies, in a variety of industries.

    Practice Areas

Complex DisputesLabor & Employment LitigationArbitration, Mediation & Alternative Dispute ResolutionLitigationNon-Compete & Trade Secrets

    /My focus

I spend my time litigating complex commercial or regulatory cases before state and federal courts and government agencies, and historically, my practice has been as wide-ranging as the opportunities in this “Tech Valley” region. For example, I have defended a global company and university technology transfer office in commercial contract disputes over intellectual property rights in semiconductor technologies. I have also worked with prominent energy companies on multi-million-dollar permitting proceedings, contract challenges, and environmental compliance matters. I’ve litigated trade secret, business tort, and commercial leasing claims in the medical device manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, healthcare, waste disposal, and imaging and software fields, and I’ve counseled and defended clients on their employment-related issues. I represented a large telecommunications company and a well-known museum, defending them against consumer class action claims of unfair, deceptive, and other illegal practices, and I have also represented outside directors of a prominent nonprofit organization in a breach of fiduciary duty adversary claim brought by a bankruptcy trustee.

For many years, I have worked with local and national media clients on their newsroom issues and defended them in First Amendment, reporters’ privilege, and commercial contracting suits. I’ve also litigated construction and professional negligence claims and contested probate matters, and served as lead and local counsel in special proceedings challenging government actions, freedom of information determinations, and contract procurement protests.

    /Looking ahead

Albany has become a hub of technological activity, with game changing innovations being made in the worldwide race for nanoelectronic excellence and burgeoning sustainability, alternate energy and video entertainment industries.
