My focus
My work includes advising developers, owners, and property managers in assisting them with affordable housing matters. I help manage transactional and regulatory compliance matters for HUD approvals such as assignments of Section 8 Housing Assistance Payment Contracts, Modified Transfers of Physical Access, RAD Conversions, Section 8(bb) transfers, use agreement transfers and modifications, as well as regulatory waivers.
Looking ahead
The country’s aging affordable housing stock will require sophisticated and creative preservation transactions to preserve affordable housing moving forward. I expect to see even more focus on HUD’s RAD program, budget-based rent increases for Mark-to-Market projects, and 8(bb) Section 8 Transfers to help preserve affordable housing projects.
