My work includes advising developers, owners, and property managers in assisting them with affordable housing matters. I help manage transactional and regulatory compliance matters for HUD approvals for assignments such as Section 8 Housing Assistance Payment Contracts, Modified Transfers of Physical Access, and RAD Conversions as well as regulatory waivers.
The country’s aging affordable housing stock will require sophisticated and creative preservation transactions to preserve affordable housing moving forward. I expect to see even more focus on HUD’s RAD program, budget-based rent increases for MTM projects, and 8bb Section 8 Transfers to help preserve affordable housing projects.
