Introduction
Sebastian Szczebiot is an associate in the firm's Private Wealth & Advisory practice. He advises individuals and families on estate planning, wealth preservation, and trust and estate administration, with a particular interest in tax-efficient planning and cross-border considerations. He is admitted in New York and Florida.
My focus
My practice focuses on helping individuals and families plan for the future of their families, businesses, and legacies. I work closely with clients to understand what they want for the people they love and build estate plans that achieve it—plans that are clear, flexible, and tax-efficient. I also guide executors and trustees through the estate and trust administration process, representing both fiduciaries and beneficiaries.
Tax is central to how I approach this work, and I’m especially interested in how cross-border issues—including the growing reach of sanctions and trade policy—shape planning for families and businesses with ties beyond the United States. Drawing on my background in international relations and the languages I speak, I’m building a practice that can serve clients wherever their interests reach.
I’m committed to serving the LGBTQIA+ community, both for private clients and through my pro bono work. Estate planning is especially important for chosen families, whose relationships aren’t always recognized by default legal rules—thoughtful planning ensures that the people a client loves and relies on are the ones protected and provided for.
Looking ahead
Digital assets—cryptocurrency, online businesses, and creator brands—can increasingly form part of a client’s wealth, yet traditional plans often overlook them. I’m focused on how these pass smoothly to the next generation.
