Associate / Co-Lead, IP in the Metaverse Team
Eliana Torres focuses on global brand strategies for protecting intellectual property assets. With experience in emerging technologies, including AI, blockchain, and NFTs, Eliana offers comprehensive guidance in complex IP matters. Her prior experience at the USPTO and LLM in International Intellectual Property Law make her a valuable advisor to clients in cutting-edge industries, delivering tailored and strategic counsel for IP protection and enforcement.
I focus my practice on the selection and protection of brands, domain names, copyright and advertising issues, and general trademark and copyright protection and enforcement, as well as global brand strategy and licensing. I counsel clients about risks associated with proposed mark registrations, as well as prosecution of trademark applications, maintenance of registrations, and infringement issues. In addition, I also assist clients with website terms and conditions of use and privacy policies, social media advertising disclosures, copyright licenses, and influencer agreements.
My practice is also focused in the blockchain technology space and assisting clients in navigating the intersection between intellectual property rights, Web3, and the Metaverse, including NFTs, Decentralized Autonomous Organizations (DAOs), and other digital assets. I am committed to understanding the industry in which each client operates.
As we move toward adoption of Web3, where content creators and users are empowered to monetize their contributions and data, we will see a rise of legal issues with IP creation, enforcement, and monetization. Businesses and individuals should be proactive in developing brand protection and enforcement strategies.
