Albany, NY. Global law firm Nixon Peabody is pleased to announce that Vincent Polsinelli and Christopher Stevens, who assist a wide range of companies with employment-related issues, have joined the firm’s Labor & Employment practice as counsel in the Albany, New York, office.
Vince returns to the firm where he spent the formative part of his legal career, from 2003 to 2015, while Chris arrives at Nixon Peabody from a large global financial services firm, where he was a vice president and member of the firm’s Employment Law group. Prior to that, Vince and Chris worked together for several years as management-side labor and employment counsel at another law firm in New York’s Capital Region.
“Both Vince and Chris have a demonstrated record as outstanding litigators and trusted advisors who are adept at balancing legal compliance with a practical understanding of each client’s unique business objectives,” said Tara Daub, leader of Nixon Peabody’s Labor & Employment practice. “We are delighted to both welcome Vince back to the firm and to add Chris as part of our dynamic group.”
Vince has worked with clients across many industries during his 20-plus years as a labor and employment attorney. Over the past several years, he has focused on wage and hour litigation and compliance advice, particularly in the hospitality, healthcare, and manufacturing industries. He is an experienced litigator dedicated to helping clients defend and resolve a variety of employment-related disputes.
Chris has also represented employers across a broad array of industries throughout all phases of employment litigation at the state, federal, and administrative levels. At his previous law firm, he litigated all sorts of employment disputes ranging from single-plaintiff cases to nationwide class and collective actions. Most recently, Chris served as in-house employment counsel at a Fortune 100 financial services firm, where he provided advice and counsel on policies, leave management, reasonable accommodations, workplace investigations, employee classification, terminations, and other employment-related legal issues as they arose.
“Employment-related issues have become even more prevalent in recent years, particularly against the backdrop of hybrid and remote work and potential disputes related to employee mobility and non-compete agreements,” said Andrew Rose, managing partner of Nixon Peabody’s Albany office. “We’re thrilled that our clients will now have the benefit of the added depth that Vince and Chris bring to our Capital Region Labor & Employment team.”
Vince earned his J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law and his B.A. from Amherst College. In 2021, he was selected by The Best Lawyers in America® as a Lawyer of the Year: Litigation – Labor and Employment.
