Boston, MA. Nixon Peabody LLP has expanded its Complex Disputes practice with the addition of fintech- and financial services-focused attorneys Andrew Glass and Gregory Blase, who join the firm as partners.
Andrew and Greg bring decades of experience advising fintechs, financial services companies, and their investors on consumer financial services law compliance and complex litigation, enforcement, and regulatory matters.
“Clients in the fintech and financial services space have growing and rapidly evolving needs, and Andrew and Greg bring a wealth of related litigation and regulatory experience,” said John Ruskusky, leader of the firm’s Complex Disputes practice. “Their skills and deep experience will be valuable in other practice areas across our firm as well. We look forward to introducing them to our clients and colleagues.”
Andrew defends clients against civil enforcement actions by state and federal agencies, including by state banking and consumer protection regulators and the US Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB), and against private lawsuits and class actions asserting claims under state and federal consumer protection laws. In addition, he assists clients in conducting internal audits and investigations, preparing for supervisory examinations, and responding to regulatory investigations.
Greg represents banks, mortgage lenders, credit card issuers, retailers, and other entities with consumer-facing financial services and payments businesses. He is experienced in the areas of credit reporting, debt collection, open banking, consumer bankruptcy compliance, consumer privacy, the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA), and state unfair and deceptive practices laws.
