Boston, MA. Nixon Peabody LLP has expanded its Private Clients practice with the addition of Ruth Mattson, who joins as a partner in the firm’s Boston office.
A member of the firm’s International Private Clients team, Ruth focuses their practice on international estate planning and multinational estate administration, assisting individuals, families, and closely held businesses with cross-border matters and complex tax compliance. Ruth helps clients administer multinational estates and plan for gifts across borders. They also help large family businesses plan for succession to future generations.

Ruth is a Fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel (ACTEC) and an academician of the International Academy of Estate and Trust Law (TIAETL). They have served in leadership roles with the Massachusetts Bar Association, the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners New England (STEP New England), and the Boston Estate Planning Council (BEPC).

Ruth earned their LLM from Boston University School of Law, their JD from Temple University Beasley School of Law, and their BA from DePauw University. They have received the BEPC President’s Award and were recognized by Best Lawyers in America® for Trusts and Estates and Tax Law in Massachusetts.
