National Security & Resilience
/Overview
Our world is increasingly complex and dangerous. Businesses, investors, financial institutions, and public sector organizations face an expanding range of national and homeland security challenges spanning foreign investment, supply chain resilience, cybersecurity, critical infrastructure, transportation, public health, emergency response, and emerging technologies. At the same time, the US government is taking an increasingly assertive approach to national security regulation, enforcement, and investigations.
Drawing on decades of senior leadership in the Department of War, the National Security Council, the Justice Department, and Department of Homeland Security, we help clients anticipate risk, navigate evolving regulatory requirements, and respond effectively to complex national security challenges before they become crises.
Experienced counsel is necessary at these points of intersection to understand and action not only the legal and regulatory landscape, but also how national security decisions are made, coordinated, and implemented across government.
/Experience
- Our multidisciplinary team includes former senior leaders from the Departments of War, Homeland Security, Justice, Treasury, Commerce, Energy, and State, as well as the FBI, NSA, and other national security agencies. Collectively, we have led national security policy, homeland defense, military readiness, law enforcement, intelligence, crisis response, and interagency operations at the highest levels of government.
- Drawing on these experiences and longstanding relationships across the Executive Branch, Congress, and international partners, we help clients engage effectively with federal agencies (including the Departments of Commerce, Energy, and State, as well as before foreign and international bodies, such as INTERPOL), navigate complex regulatory and enforcement matters, manage strategic and operational risk, and respond to issues that have significant national security implications.
- We advise clients across the full spectrum of national security, homeland security, and geopolitical risk matters, including cross-border investigations, foreign investment reviews, cybersecurity, export controls, sanctions, trade, immigration, supply chain resilience, critical infrastructure, and other regulatory and enforcement proceedings.
- We help organizations anticipate, prepare for, and respond to crises—whether driven by government action, geopolitical events, cyber incidents, operational disruptions, or other emerging threats. By combining decades of senior government leadership with sophisticated legal counsel and deep industry insight, we help clients manage risk, maintain resilience, and confidently navigate the complex legal and regulatory frameworks that govern global operations.
