Gary Band concentrates his practice in community development and finance. His primary focus is representing investors and syndicators in connection with projects that generate renewable energy tax credits and low-income housing tax credits.
Much of my work has concentrated on projects generating renewable energy tax credits. In particular, I have closed numerous transactions involving the installation of residential solar systems on homes throughout the country, including on military bases. I have worked on transactions involving the installation of solar systems on commercial properties located predominately in California, New Jersey, Massachusetts, Hawaii and Arizona. In addition, I have assisted clients with solar projects funded, in part, by Section 1603 Grants (under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009).
With regard to my work in the low-income housing tax credit area, I have been representing investors and syndicators in this space for over 18 years. I have assisted these clients in making their initial investment in low-income housing projects as well as providing them with asset management advice on an on-going basis.
I speak at seminars related to the low-income housing tax credit industry sponsored by the Institute for Professional Education Development. I enjoy getting to know other participants in the industry and keeping on top of trends and developments.
I believe we are in the infancy of the solar industry here in the United States. I am excited about being a part of the industry at such an early stage and look forward to being a part of its incredible growth.
