Introduction
Anissa is a patent specialist in the Patents group. She utilizes her research background to assist with intellectual property protection for life sciences and biotechnology clients.
My focus
I draft and prosecute patent applications in the life sciences industry. Leveraging my research experience from Harvard Medical School, I am well versed in the fields and technologies of molecular interactions (RNA, DNA, Protein), which I studied to understand their role in health and disease, with a focus on oncology, immunology, and infectious diseases. During my time as a postdoc, I worked as a fellow at the Harvard Office of Technology Development (OTD), where I cultivated the due diligence process of evaluating an innovation and the procedure to transfer it to the industry.
Looking ahead
Complex technologies such as mRNA-based vaccines, lipid nanoparticles for targeted drug delivery, and conjugated antibodies (ADC) will need protection from different angles to unlock their innovative potential and permit successful commercialization.
