    Introduction

Sarah is an experienced litigation associate, with a particular focus on labor and employment matters.

    Practice Areas

    LitigationLabor & Employment Litigation

    /My focus

I represent businesses in disputes before administrative agencies and state and federal courts in all phases of litigation, from pre-suit investigations and research through pleadings, discovery, motion practice, trial, and appeal. I bring to my role the perspective and extensive experience I gained in my prior experiences before and during law school as a litigation paralegal, as an intern for the Honorable Enechi Modu, Administrative Law Judge at the US Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, and as the Josiah H. Oliver Wolcott Fellow for the Honorable Collins J. Seitz, Jr., Chief Justice, Delaware Supreme Court.

In addition to the litigation of complex commercial claims involving breach of contract, construction, defamation, and premises and products liability, I also have a particular penchant for labor and employment litigation and counseling. In this capacity, I routinely defend clients from claims of employment discrimination, retaliation, wrongful discharge, harassment, and wage and hour violations, and regularly advise clients on the drafting and implementation of employment policies and practices that comply with state and federal law, as well as how to reduce the risk of future employment disputes.

    /Looking ahead

Employment law continues to evolve at a rapid pace at both the state and federal level. It is crucial that employers remain up to date with these changes to ensure compliance and reduce the risk of litigation and administrative actions. Given the increased costs of litigation and civil penalties, it is especially important to consult counsel early in any employment dispute to formulate a favorable and cost-effective strategy.
