    /My focus

I focus on transactions involving capital markets, mergers and acquisitions, private equity, funds, China (PRC), private wealth, corporate and commercial contracts, regulatory compliance, corporate governance and corporate secretarial work. I have advised issuers, issue managers, underwriters and placement agents, private equity funds, multinational corporations, high net-worth individuals and small and medium enterprises on transactions including initial public offerings (IPO), pre-IPO investment, dual listings, reverse takeovers, public takeovers, rights and warrants issues, placement, local and cross border acquisitions and disposals of shares and assets, downstream investment by private equity funds, joint ventures, and corporate restructuring. I have also advised clients on variable capital companies, establishment of family offices and their tax incentives, and applications to the Monetary Authority of Singapore pertaining to capital market service licenses and registered fund management companies. I have acted in various cross border transactions with PRC elements, and frequently advise issuers on their regulatory compliance and corporate governance issues.

    /Looking ahead

Notwithstanding global political tensions, in the last few years, Singapore has seen a huge influx of private wealth due to its perceived political stability and neutrality. There is a surge in family offices being established and funds work (in the form of variable capital companies) in Singapore. There are also many promising Singapore and Hong Kong companies whose interests in seeking an initial public offering/ listing on NASDAQ have grown considerably in recent times. I see many exciting opportunities to collaborate with our NP colleagues to continue to render quality services in these areas to clients.
