Introduction
My focus
I represent clients through all stages of litigation in both state and federal courts. My practice focuses on business disputes, trade secrets, data privacy, class action defense, and trademark infringement. My practice involves drafting and arguing dispositive and procedural motions, preparing and responding to written discovery, developing case strategies, and preparing for trials.
I am also a Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/US), a preeminent credential in the field of information privacy applicable to public and private sectors in the United States.
Prior to joining Nixon Peabody, I served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Linda Lopez of the United States District Court for the Southern District of California. I prepared orders for dispositive motions and developed and managed procedures for the court’s civil trials, pretrial conferences, and Markman hearings. Earlier, I was an associate at a litigation law firm in Los Angeles.
During law school, I served as a judicial extern to the Honorable Dolly M. Gee of the United States District Court for the Central District of California. I also was the chief research editor of the Loyola of Los Angeles Law Review.
Looking ahead
As machine learning and artificial intelligence (AI) become increasingly more prominent, it is crucial to understand privacy compliance and cybersecurity guidelines as the courts begin to address these issues in lawsuits. Industries such as financial services, intellectual property, healthcare, energy, and retail may all be impacted by these emerging developments but can proactively respond by assessing risk and anticipating potential disputes.
