Partner / Co-leader, Investment Funds Practice
Benedict Kwon is a partner in the Corporate practice group and a member of the Private Equity & Investment Funds group. He is also the co-leader of the Investment Funds group and co-chair of the American Bar Association Subcommittee on Private Equity and Venture Capital Fund Formation.
Benedict focuses on representing a broad range of alternative asset managers in the formation of private investment funds across a variety of investment strategies. Benedict is also active in pro-bono matters, having served as counsel for the adoptions of minors and advised the Women’s Equity Lab in forming an investment fund promoting the businesses of women-led companies.
I represent a broad range of alternative asset managers in the formation and ongoing operation of their private equity, venture capital, and other private investment funds. I also have significant experience in structuring the portfolio investments of private equity funds, venture capital funds, and real estate funds.
I form an array of private investment funds, including private equity funds, venture capital funds, real estate funds, mezzanine debt funds, real estate investment trusts, and hedge funds.
I also advise private investment funds with respect to formation issues and efficient tax structuring and counsel clients on Investment Advisers Act and Investment Company Act compliance.
