    My focus

I take pride in being a general business litigation attorney, capable of handling a wide variety of disputes for clients in equally varied industries. I have secured successful verdicts in jury and bench trials, and at arbitration, and that experience has given me a better perspective on what is important in litigation, and what might be an unnecessary distraction. I use this experience—and my willingness to try cases—to my clients’ advantage as I represent them through discovery, motion practice, and trial preparation.

Prior to rejoining Nixon Peabody in 2023, I was practice group leader in a 60+ attorney New York litigation firm.

    Representative experience

Below representative experience includes representations from a prior firm.

    • Coordinated consumer and commercial litigation across the country for a Fortune 50 technology products and services company
    • Defended a prominent New York academic hospital system in “False Claims Act” suit concerning billing for experimental cancer treatments
    • Guided multiple hospital systems and academic institutions through physician and student disciplinary proceedings, from the initial investigation and internal hearings, subsequent CPLR Article 78 challenges in court, and the appeals that followed
    • Defended the accreditation status of multiple high-profile medical residency programs to the ACGME
    • Prosecuted a $40 million fraudulent inducement action in SDNY against business management software and workforce outsourcing company
    • Lead attorney for defrauded lender in a multi-venue litigation arising from a highly publicized $16 million political corruption scandal; handled motions and subsequent appeals of inconsistent rulings by state and federal trial courts to the Second Department and Second Circuit
    • Represented skyscraper façade and building envelope fabricator in construction litigation throughout New York City, and in actions for product defects against Japanese and US manufacturers of aluminum composite materials
    • Pursued, seized, and sold the domestic assets of a foreign national who fled the country to avoid paying $6 million to his ex-wife
    • Deposed opposing party’s computer programming expert in a federal court trade secret case against a Fortune 50 technology client

    Looking ahead

The banking and financial sectors will continue to face increased oversight and enforcement activity. Clients must be aware of evolving legislation and work with regulators to find mutually beneficial solutions.
