Introduction
Dawn Muise is a paralegal in Nixon Peabody’s Intellectual Property group. She focuses primarily on foreign dockets and Patent Cooperation Treaty applications.
My focus
I support attorneys and clients in Boston’s Intellectual Property practice group. I manage and maintain foreign dockets, and prepare and file all Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT) applications. I also prepare and file all PCT prosecution documents, including Chapter II Demands, national phase applications, and directly filed foreign applications.
My involvement with our foreign associates includes working to retain estimates, providing our foreign associates with instructions for responses to complete formalities, and proceeding with examination requests. I work closely with clients and attorneys to ensure that all deadlines are timely met.
Looking ahead
The European patent system is undergoing a wave of changes that will affect all pending European applications and patents. I am monitoring the implementation of these changes with an eye on how the new processes will impact patent owners and applicants.
