Samantha Zhu is a patent agent in the firm’s Patents practice group. Samantha possesses a strong scientific background in the biotechnology, life sciences, medical and chemical fields. Samantha focuses her practice on intellectual property protection and counseling for clients in research institutions, universities, corporations and start-ups. She is a registered patent agent with the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office.
I focus my practice on evaluation of technology to assess patentability, prosecution before the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office, coordination of corresponding foreign filings and strategic planning and management of intellectual property portfolios. The main technical areas of my practice include biologics and small molecule therapeutics, pharmaceuticals, drug delivery, biochemistry, polymer chemistry, nanotechnology and medical devices. These areas often involve mechanical and electrical innovations in addition to biological and chemical discoveries.
