    Workplace: Policies, Procedures & Training

    Properly written policies and procedures, proactive training, and reacting quickly to issues is imperative to avoiding costly workplace disputes. 

    Overview

    Nixon Peabody offers customized and practical solutions to ensure clients implement the best workplace policies possible. We regularly advise clients on a range of issues, including wage and hour, drug and alcohol use, sexual harassment, terminations, and OSHA workplace safety. Over the past two years, our team has been advising employers on various COVID-19-related employment policies and procedures related to vaccinations, remote working arrangements, workforce restructuring and furloughs, and paid leave requirements.

    Representative Experience

    • Private company: Advised with respect to their employee benefits, OSHA, labor and employment counseling, labor and employment training, immigration, and labor litigation needs
    • Canadian company: Advised with respect to US labor and employment matters in connection with a recent acquisition, its first in the US
    • Multi-national office-based employer: Advised on their transition to a 100% remote workforce due to COVID-19
    • Hospital system: Designed and delivered a custom training program for the hospital and its leaders on a range of topics from labor law and union avoidance to state and federal equal employment opportunity law
    • Prepared and revised expense reimbursement policies for small and large employers with remote workforce
