    Introduction

Angelo Christopher focuses on patent litigation, patent prosecution, and general intellectual property counseling.

    /My focus

My litigation practice focuses on resolving patent disputes across a wide range of technologies, including printed circuits, enterprise software, light-emitting diodes, graphical user interfaces, lithium-ion batteries, and others. I have experience successfully litigating complex international disputes with parallel proceedings in multiple jurisdictions and countries. I have helped prepare successful technical arguments in numerous inter partes review (IPR), post-grant review (PGR), and covered business method (CBM) proceedings.

My practice also encompasses all aspects of patent prosecution, including technical analysis, drafting applications, office action responses, reissue and continuing applications, appeal practice, and managing local counsel for foreign office actions.

    /Representative experience

    • Represent Workspot Inc., an enterprise software company, in a patent infringement lawsuit relating to remote application access using virtual machine technology—case settled. Citrix Systems Inc. v. Workspot, Inc. (D. Del.)
    • Advised Ulta-Lit Tree Company, a holiday product company, in a patent infringement lawsuit relating to diagnostic devices for light-emitting diode light strings—case settled. Ulta-Lit Tree Company v. Simple Living Solutions, LLC. (D. Ariz.)
    • Represent Hutchinson Technology Incorporated, a precision technologies company, in global dispute related to flexible printed circuit boards used in hard disk drives, including litigation in U.S. District Court, the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB) at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, and the Thailand Central Intellectual Property and Trade Court—case settled. Nitto Denko Corporation v. Hutchinson Technology Incorporated (D. Minn.)
    • Advised The Regents of the University of California in a groundbreaking patent enforcement campaign to protect its rights in a revolutionary new generation of light bulb technology known as filament LED invented by a Nobel laureate-led team at UC Santa Barbara, including litigation before the U.S. International Trade Commission, the U.S. District Courts for the Central District of California and Eastern District of New York, and PTAB.
    • Represent MemoryWeb, LLC, a photo organization application, in a patent enforcement campaign to protect its rights in digital file management technology, including litigation in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California and PTAB

    /Looking ahead

The increasingly complex global supply chains in high-tech industries will require patentees to think even more strategically about how to develop a patent portfolio that is readily enforceable worldwide to protect their business interests.
