Introduction
My focus
I focus my practice on district court patent litigation and USPTO patent invalidity proceedings. I have significant experience working with patent owners in the telecommunications, cosmetics, and fleet management industries.
Prior to attending law school, I worked as a patent information specialist for one of the world’s leading cosmetics and personal care companies, doing patent clearance and provided freedom-to-operate opinions. During law school, I helped draft petitions and various briefs to the Supreme Court as a member of the school’s Supreme Court Clinic.
Looking ahead
The institution of IPRs in 2012 and the Supreme Court’s Alice and Mayo decisions have dramatically affected how patent infringement disputes are carried out and the type of patents asserted. As the quality of asserted patents increases, so are the stakes of the proceedings and the damages amounts faced by infringers.
