Introduction
Matthew Forzano is an associate with Nixon Peabody’s Complex Disputes practice group. His practice focuses on complex commercial litigation, healthcare litigation, and graduate medical education.
My focus
My practice focuses primarily on complex commercial disputes, healthcare litigation, products liability, and medical education and graduate medical education programs. I represent individuals, small-midsize companies, and publicly traded companies across a wide range of industries, as well as hospitals and academic medical centers.
I have represented clients in commercial litigation, arbitration, and both court-sponsored and private mediation involving contract disputes, business torts, fraud and misrepresentation, restrictive covenants, indemnification claims, commercial real estate, and employment matters, among others. In addition, I have products liability experience, including defending motor vehicle manufacturers in products liability litigation.
Within the healthcare industry, I have represented hospitals, academic medical centers, medical education programs, and sponsoring institutions in a variety of litigation, Article 78 proceedings, and both internal and external administrative proceedings. My experience includes representing healthcare clients in matters related to medical education and graduate medical education, accreditation, residency and fellowship matching, quality assurance and peer review, medical staff actions and hearings, NPDB and OPMC reporting, and False Claims Act actions, among others.
Looking ahead
I continue to track developments in the use of artificial intelligence and machine learning algorithms within the legal field. Such advances have the potential to add value and reduce litigation costs for clients across an array of industries and sectors.
