Introduction
Dave Zimmermann is an associate in Nixon Peabody’s Corporate practice group.
My focus
I represent companies in the middle market across the full spectrum of general corporate work, including mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, licensing, and other strategic transactions. My day-to-day work includes assisting clients with all phases of a transaction, including drafting the LOI and purchase agreement, conducting due diligence, and facilitating closing and post-closing mechanics. I strive to provide practical, business-oriented advice to my clients so that they can move quickly and focus their time on growing their business, not worrying about legal issues.
Prior to Nixon Peabody, I spent time at a research and development company working on cutting-edge robotics products, where I addressed potential regulatory hurdles and product liability issues. It was there that I learned the importance of providing clear and articulate legal advice to product managers and business executives.
Looking ahead
I predict we will see an increase in private equity exits as founders and business owners seek to avoid going public, while maturing technologies such as robotics, automation, and AI transform all industries.
