Bob Daileader is a partner in Nixon Peabody’s Project Finance and Public Finance group in Washington, DC. He represents a wide variety of energy clients in the development, financing and construction of energy infrastructure projects as well as on the federal and state regulatory approvals needed for such projects. Bob has represented clients in the energy industry for more than forty years.
In recent years, my practice has been heavily focused on the development, financing and construction of electric infrastructure projects, particularly renewable generation and transmission facilities.
I have represented or am currently representing developers of new electric transmission facilities in New Mexico Minnesota, Wisconsin, Missouri, Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi and California. I am involved in the negotiation of the commercial contracts needed for these projects as well as the regulatory approvals.
I have negotiated a wide variety of commercial contracts (EPC agreements, equipment purchase agreements, O&M agreements, etc.) for electric generation projects, including both new generation as well as environmental retrofits on existing generation. For example, I negotiated the agreements for the purchase of the boilers, turbines and air quality control systems for Prairie State Generating Company, LLC, a two-unit 1,600 MW coal-fired facility now in operation in central Illinois.
At present, my practice is heavily focused on the development of renewable energy generation (particularly wind and solar) and the related electric transmission facilities needed to move the energy output from these facilities to load centers.. Given that the economics of renewable generation have improved relative to fossil fuel generation and with the increased focus on the climate impacts of electric generation, I believe that trend will continue for the foreseeable future.
