Chicago, IL, & New York, NY. Nixon Peabody LLP is proud to announce that partners Meghan Altidor, Janet Garetto, Jéna Grady, and Virginia Wong have been named among the 2026 “Notable Women in Law” by Crain’s regional publications.
New York City–based partners Meghan, Jéna, and Virginia were recognized by Crain’s New York Business, while Crain’s Chicago Business honored Janet, a partner in the firm’s Chicago office.
Meghan, a partner in the firm’s Affordable Housing & Real Estate practice, represents nonprofit and for-profit developers in acquiring, constructing, rehabilitating and operating affordable housing developments around the country. Meghan serves on the executive committee of Washington, DC-based Housing& and New York City-based Project FIND, a nonprofit housing operator and service provider. She is also on the board of directors for the New York Housing Conference (NYHC).
Janet is a partner in Nixon Peabody’s Intellectual Property practice and is co-leader of the firm’s Food, Beverage & Agribusiness IP team. She counsels clients on intellectual property issues facing their brands, patent protection, and litigation prevention issues. Janet helps companies from diverse industries, including food and beverage, pharmaceuticals, and medical devices, to develop brand strategies and goals. She serves as vice chair and industry committee lead and chair of the Board of the Chicagoland Food & Beverage Network.
A partner in Nixon Peabody’s Healthcare practice, Jéna focuses on healthcare transactions and regulatory compliance. She leverages her previous public health experience to advise healthcare providers, companies, and investment and management firms on complex regulatory and legal issues, particularly in behavioral health, digital health, dermatology, ophthalmology, and dental. Outside the office, she serves as co-chair of American Telemedicine Association’s Telemental Health sub-committee.
Virginia, who leads the firm’s Project Finance & Public Finance practice, represents both issuers and underwriters in a full range of transactions, including public offerings and private placements. She has a particular focus on project finance transactions, securitizations, and tax-exempt revenue bond financings. Virginia is a member of the board of governors for Fairfield Preparatory High School and the board of advisors for New Covenant Center.
