Washington, DC. Nixon Peabody LLP has strengthened its Community Development Finance practice with the addition of Dusko Stojkov, who focuses on advising clients across the full lifecycle of renewable energy tax credit transactions, from project development and tax equity structuring through credit transfers, Foreign Entity of Concern (FEOC) compliance, and transactional due diligence.
Based in the firm’s Washington, DC office, Dusko advises sponsors, investors, and lenders on tax-efficient capital stacks for solar, storage, wind, and other clean energy projects, including project development, tax equity, credit transfers, and restructuring. Dusko helps clients navigate the complexity and rapid evolution of federal clean energy incentives, including qualifications for and stacking of credits, bonus adders, transferability, and direct pay.
Dusko also counsels corporate clients on a broad range of business and tax-related matters, including choice of entity planning, structuring complex tax allocation and distribution provisions in partnership and Limited Liability Company (LLC) agreements, tax-efficient structuring of acquisitions and divestitures, advising on US withholding and tax filing requirements, tax planning for US multinationals and ensuring compliance with the Foreign Investment in Real Property Tax Act (FIRPTA), tax planning for investment tax credits, and energy property credits.
“Dusko is an experienced transactional tax attorney with meaningful depth and a demonstrated ability to deliver exceptional client service,” said Nixon Peabody partner Matthew Mullen, leader of the firm’s Community Development Finance practice. “As we continue to strengthen our renewable energy tax credit capabilities, we are thrilled to welcome him to the practice.”
