Jacalyn Smith is a resident attorney in our Project Finance and Public Finance group, serving as counsel to nonprofit borrowers, underwriters, and banks in connection with tax-exempt and taxable financings to hospitals, health care facilities, and educational institutions.
I represent a wide variety of clients on financing transactions for health systems, charter schools, colleges and universities, cultural institutions, and other nonprofit entities. I assist with reviewing a variety of documents as part of due diligence, drafting offerings and memoranda, and researching complex legal issues.
I will be closely monitoring developments with respect to the rating systems of nonprofit entities in the areas of health care and education and the opportunities to pursue taxable and nontaxable bond financing in the wake of the global pandemic.
