    Introduction

    Tyler Savage is a partner in the M&A and Corporate Transactions group. Tyler is a dual citizen of the United States and Canada—he advises domestic and international clients on a variety of corporate matters with extensive experience in mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, securities and private equity transactions.

    Tyler's clients include beverage and alcohol manufacturers and distributors, sports franchises, technology and software companies, manufacturing and industrial companies, construction materials companies and professional service providers.

    My focus

    I represent private and public companies on a wide range of legal matters, including mergers, acquisitions, recapitalizations, restructurings and dispositions, both domestically and internationally.

    I have represented companies of all stages in various verticals as well as the venture and private equity funds that invest in them. In addition to my transactional practice, I advise domestic and foreign companies on a variety of sophisticated day-to-day corporate legal matters such as agreements with vendors, suppliers, executives and employees and those concerning manufacturing and research and development.

    Over the past few years, I have lead and assisted on transactions with an aggregate value of several billion dollars across a variety of industries.

    Representative experience

    • Ongoing representation of a number of public companies with respect to general corporate governance and risk mitigation.
    • Ongoing representation of numerous private companies with respect to their day-to-day business operations, governance matters and risk mitigation.
    • Ongoing representation of several technology-driven growth companies in financing transactions, both conventional debt and equity.
    • Representation of issuers in numerous private placement offerings for transactions ranging between $5M and $800M.
    • Representation of various private and publicly traded companies in connection with acquisitions and dispositions, with purchase prices ranging from approximately $10M to more than $1.2B.
    • Represented various construction industry companies on transactions ranging from $50M to $500M.
    • Acted as outside general counsel to a private selling group in connection with sale of an NHL hockey club and major league lacrosse club.
    • Acted as outside general counsel to ownership group of an NHL hockey club and major league lacrosse club.

    Professional activities

    Tyler is a board member and audit committee member of both Campus Auxiliary Services, Inc. at the State University of New York at Geneseo and EquiCenter, Inc. He is a former board member of the Bivona Child Advocacy Center. In the past, Tyler was a committee member of the Business Law Section of the Monroe County Bar Association and a volunteer for the Literacy for Life program. He is a member of the American, New York State and Monroe County bar associations.

    Tyler was selected for inclusion in The Legal 500 M&A Private Practice Powerlist – USA Region 2023.

    Tyler was selected, through peer-review survey, for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America® 2023 in the fields of Business Organizations (including LLCs and Partnerships), Corporate Law, Mergers and Acquisitions Law, and Venture Capital Law. Tyler has been listed in Best Lawyers since 2018.

    Tyler has been recognized for exceptional standing in the legal community in Chambers USA: America’s Leading Lawyers for Business 2022 for Corporate/M&A (Upstate New York). Tyler has also been recognized in Chambers in previous years.

    Tyler was a recipient of the Rochester Business Journal’s “Forty Under 40” award in 2011.

    Tyler was selected to the Upstate New York Super Lawyers list for 2019. His primary area of practice is mergers and acquisitions law.
