My practice focuses on environmental and energy due diligence to identify and assess potential environmental liabilities on the state and federal levels. I have extensive experience in complex environmental matters, including Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA), Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA), California Hazardous Substance Account Act (HSAA), and Clean Water Act regulatory matters and private actions involving California State and Regional Water Boards and the Department of Toxic Substances Control. Additionally, I have represented a wide range of public and private entities, including county and city municipalities, in both administrative enforcement and civil actions in state and federal venues.
Additional areas of focus for my practice include land use, regulatory compliance, and risk management.
During the next decade of environmental law, we will see an increasing focus on environmental remediation and mitigation and the transition to green and renewable forms of energy in the efforts to combat climate change issues. Accordingly, it is crucial to have an in-depth understanding of these issues as related to the ongoing evolution of legal and regulatory compliance, on both the state and federal levels, as we move toward a more eco-friendly society.
