San Francisco, CA. Nixon Peabody LLP has expanded the firm’s Tax team with the addition of Nicholas Gerlach, who joins as a Corporate partner in the firm’s San Francisco office.
Nick’s practice sits at the intersection of corporate and partnership tax, where he advises clients on practical, business-driven tax solutions for a variety of transactions, including acquisitions, partnership formations, joint ventures, restructurings, fund formations, spin-offs, redemptions, and hybrid transactions. He works with clients across a wide range of industries on tax considerations throughout the lifecycle of complex deals, working closely with corporate, private equity, real estate, and finance teams.

Nick counsels clients on a wide range of issues, including corporate tax, S-corporation matters, partnership tax law, state and local tax, representation and warranties, tax insurance, and tax due diligence for buyers.

Nick earned his JD from Syracuse University College of Law and his LLM from Georgetown University Law Center. He holds a BA from Villanova University.
